When you join our class, you will be learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with the best trainers in Essex; Southend Combat Academy is proud to be part of the world-famous Pedro Sauer Gracie Jiu Jitsu association. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a style of fighting that is also referred to as Gracie Jiu Jitsu because of the famous Gracie brothers Carlos, George and Helio. They opened an academy back in 1925 and started to adapt the sport to focus more on torque and leverage in place of power and brute force. It evolved into the street fighting self defence system we know today and we strongly believe it is an integral part of Mixed Martial Arts. We are passion about Jiu Jitsu, in fact our lineage is directly traceable all the way back from the Gracie family!
We offer a 12-week course for beginners where students will learn all about this martial art he cost of the course includes your gi, belt, membership and a year’s insurance, not to mention the certificate you receive upon completion of your training. There are also sessions that we run for juniors and adults covering the fundamentals as well as sparring that you are welcome to come along and try out with us. As a mixed martials arts school we provide a range of classes, all of which can be found on our timetable, for everything from nunchucks, boxing and yoga to wrestling, kickboxing and bootcamps.
